The leaders of our six Catholic schools in western St. Tammany Parish have made a decision to let our teachers know just how VALUABLE their families are to our schools. They have done this by initiating an additional employee benefit in the form of tuition reduction. This school year, all six of these Catholic area schools offered a $750 tuition reduction to the children of any full time employee.
So what does this mean for St. Peter Catholic School teachers?
For example, a teacher working at St. Paul's school that has a child enrolled at St. Peter Catholic School receives a $750 tuition credit on their St. Peter school bill. Conversely, if a teacher is employed at St. Peter Catholic School and her son attends Archbishop Hannan, he receives a tuition deduction from Archbishop Hannan of $750.
So what does this mean to St. Peter Catholic School students?
It means that they will continue to receive an exceptional Catholic education. They will be instructed by individuals who consider their role as teachers to be a true VOCATION. And perhaps most importantly, it means that the children of these teachers will be sitting in the desks next to your son or daughter! What better families to have as active members of our school communities?
How is this new program being funded?
Each school is responsible for funding this new program in any way that they chose. Here at St. Peter, the Catholic Educators Scholarship Fund has been created to designate money for the tuition credits.
