Laurie Guinot joined St. Peter Catholic School in August 2015 as a Key Cottage Teacher. She was born in New Orleans and raised in Chalmette, Louisiana. She earned Bachelor’s of Psychology from Upper Iowa University and an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. After completing her undergraduate degree she worked in the Private, Catholic and Public School Systems. Before coming to St. Peter Catholic School, Laurie taught First Grade at Mater Dolorosa Catholic School. Laurie is trained to teach the Lively Letters Curriculum to Early Childhood Children. She also received training in Project Read and Kagan. She began the first Terrific Kids Program at Mater Dolorosa Catholic School and was 4-H Moderator and Red Ribbon Moderator. Laurie was chairperson for the First Project Graduation at Archbishop Hannan High School. She also started the 3 Year-Old Education Program at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic School. While Laurie has experience in the Catholic, Private, and Public School Systems, she favors teaching in the Catholic System where she can share her Catholic faith and pray daily with her students. Laurie is married to Guy Guinot and has two children: Guy and Shelby.
